WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING…
PASSION IN PEPPERS
CAN YOU FEEL THE HEAT?
Let me introduce myself
My passion is the pepper…
My name is Jordan Magro and there is nothing more I enjoy than adding spice to someone’s life. I was born in New York but grew up in South Florida, getting a college degree at FAU in criminal justice. Growing up I had a mom who had a green thumb and enjoyed her time in the garden. Lucky to me she passed that green thumb down to myself. By day I work in the commercial insurance adjusting world; however, my passion is growing hot peppers, cooking and getting to see someone put a smile on their face with something I have created in the kitchen. When I’m not doing my day job you can find me in my Oakland Park, Florida backyard growing super-hot peppers.
Hand-Crafted Gourmet Jerky. Made to impress.
How it all came to be…
People always ask me, how was Insano’s Jerky created? Well, it’s a slightly sad story as it really began when my older brother Matt passed away about two years ago. Dealing with this was and is difficult but I found a place of peace and serenity in the garden. I first began building a garden bed and planted a few hot pepper plants i found in a local nursery. As time went on the flowers opened, the buds appeared and the garden bed was full of peppers. I then created an Instagram Hot_PepperGuy and began sharing my passions with people all over the world. As time went on i started trading seeds and growing ideas with people all over the work and before I knew it, the backyard was full of pepper plants from scotch bonnets to reapers. Then one day I decided to make a beef jerky to bring with me during my days work. While out and about people would always ask me what I was eating, tasted some then would ask me to make me some for them. I then started making bigger batches, created a logo, and named the beef jerky Insano’s Jerky after my older brother who as kids we called Captain Insano, just like the old wrestler. Now Insano’s Jerky is shared and enjoyed with people all over the country and is carried in several local stores in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.
